It's about Building Confident People for a Stronger Community
What is KiMudo?
KiMudo is a Korean martial art that primarily incorporates elements of Tae Kwon Do, Hapkido and Judo. KiMudo is designed to be practical, versatile, and effective at a variety of different ranges and in a variety of different situations. The Tae Kwon Do - derived kicks and strikes provide excellent power at medium and long range, while the throws, locks, chokes and joint manipulation of Judo and Hapkido allow for effective close range fighting and grappling. KiMudo is a living, growing martial art that continues to expand and change. In addition to the core elements of Tae Kwon Do, Judo and Hapkido, KiMudo also includes techniques from Jujitsu, Karate, boxing, wrestling, traditional weapons from Okinawa and the Philippines, and many other arts and styles. KiMudo is more than just an effective system of self defense; it is a martial art that encourages students to realize their own potential, both physically, mentally and spiritually.
KiMudo is more than just an effective system of self defense; it is a martial art that encourages students to realize their own potential, both physically, mentally andspiritually. Students of KiMudo learn discipline, self-control, patience, persistence and respect for themselves and others. Students are expected to continually strive to perfect themselves, both in the do jang, and in every other area of their life. In addition to KiMudo, many of our schools offer separate classes in Judo, Jujitsu and Hapkido. and a combination of this KiMudo is an art that combines the strikes of Tae Kwon Do, the throwing and grappling techniques of Judo and jujitsu, the joint locks of Hapki-Do, and the practice of kobudo (traditional weapons) into one art. More important than the style of martial art that we teach is the orientation through which we teach. We are a traditional martial arts school in a modern society. Our classes are defined by the structure, tradition and self-protection of the martial arts, while our teaching is aimed drawing out and developing the qualities in each individual that help us grow, develop and progress into outstanding, confident leaders in our community, at school, at home and at work. KiMudo is for all ages, all life stages, all individual, all couples, and all families. It is for you!
Kids enjoy KiMudo because its fun! Parents get to see improved focus, self-esteem, respect for others, and physical health.
"Parents who seek martial arts training in order to develop enhanced self-control in their children are encouraged to enroll them in traditional martial arts programs. Most of these programs emphasize personal mastery through coordinated breathing and movement as well as ethical decision making before inflicting harm on another person."
